Assalamu Alaikum

Jazakumullah Khairan for reading my fundraising page.

I and my three children are in a desperate situation and need your support to get us out of this. You are my Muslim brothers and sisters and I really don’t know who else to ask because I have exhausted all the welfare charities and service providers who normally provide support in situations like mine.

We don’t have money for halal food and often for basic essentials like nappies or children’s clothing and footwear. We are in temporary safe accommodation but lack basic necessities such as bedding and furniture or even toys and toiletries.

My children are aged 3 years, 1 year and a newborn baby and we have fled a life of violence and abuse from my husband and his parents and siblings. Alhamdulillah, we are now safe and trying to rebuild a new life but we are struggling to make ends meet. Please help.

You can read brief details about my story below:

I had an arranged married at a young age but my husband and his family never really accepted me and never looked after or cared for me or my health.

Once my first child was born, we needed things such as toiletries, nappies, wipes, food and milk but my husband didn’t give money for these things and didn’t provide it or let me go to purchase it, even if he said yes his parents wouldn’t allow it. They made it difficult for me to bring up a child. It was even very difficult for me to take my child to a doctors appointment for immunisations by turning up late so we would miss appointments or husband and his family members would make sure there’s no vehicle for me to drive there and if there was the vehicle the child’s car seat wouldn’t be there.

They would never let me out of their sight and made my life as hard as possible. Just some of the things I hear to bear were:

Never being able to eat when or what I wanted;

Not being able to sleep when I’m tired;

Having to wake up early hours of the morning even though everyone in the household is sleeping;

Not having any privacy even whilst breastfeeding so father in law would just come into a room without knocking;

Forced to stay in the kitchen to cook or clean;

Having to ask permission to go to the toilet;

Not being able to feed or change a child’s nappy or dirty clothes or be allowed to take the child out for fresh.

Even whilst pregnant and after childbirth, I had to go through this and had to clean up after and take care of other adults in the household when they are physically fine. In the household, there was his mother, father, brother, sister, uncle and also sister and her husband and child. Through my marriage, if I ever asked for something or replied back, I was physically hit by my husband and this was in front of the other family members.

I couldn’t live like this so a fled from the house and now we are safe. Please help me to rebuild our lives. Any amount will make a difference and all the funds will be used for essentials including Children’s furniture; 2 cots, toddler bed, wardrobes, chest of draws, twin buggy, high chair, clothes, footwear, bedding, duvet & pillows, baby needs, baby bottles steriliser nappies wipes etc toiletries, children’s books and toys and if any surplus on fridge, freezer, cooker, washing machine, crockery, food and clothes for the family.

I need to go out and work to provide an income but I am unable to do this without money for childcare costs. Some of the funds will be used for this so I can try to become self-sufficient.

Please help your Muslim sister at a difficult time. The Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said: “Whoever removes a grief from a believer from amongst the sorrows of this life, Allah will remove a grief from him amongst the sorrows of the Day of Resurrection. Whoever brings ease to one in difficulty, Allah will make it easy for him in this life and the Hereafter.” [Sahih Muslim]

Jazakumullah Khair for reading my page.
